PERSONALITY
Eliot is a fighter, both physically and spiritually. Physically, he can take down multiple opponents with grace. He is quick, he is analytical. He gives every fight his all, which isn't to say he's invincible. He gets hurt, but it takes a lot to keep him down. He doesn't give up. He is determined, stubborn, and proud.
Spiritually, Eliot has an inner strength no one and nothing can touch.He has extensive martial arts training, and he uses that training effectively. Years of captivity wore him down, but he recovered because of his strong sense of self. He was broken, but far from defeated.
Eliot appears to be a hard ass, and he is. Mostly. He is also a big softie. He is passionate and compassionate. He actually cares about other people, and what happens to them, but he has a hard time letting that show. This is just one of the ways he is a study of contrasts.
Eliot is an honest man, despite his position on a team of thieves and con men. They are a modern day Robin Hood. They take from the wealthy, the over privileged, the men and women who think they are entitled. They give back to the poor, to the under dog, to the victim. Eliot feels it all balances out in the end.
HISTORY
Eliot's early history is largely unknown. His keen sensitivity toward an abused child leads itself to an abusive childhood. His father was likely very controlling, possibly a drunk, definitely violent toward his wife and children. Eliot has made reference to a sister at least twice, and he would have tried to protect any siblings he grew up with from his father's rage.
Eliot went in to the military as soon as he graduated high school, to escape the world in which he lived. He felt he had no other viable escape. He went into the Marines, and because of his keen attention to detail and ability to learn quickly, he was soon drafted into a special ops unit where he developed a keep ear to the sound of guns, to the point he can ID a gun model based on the sound of the backfire.
Eliot was captured and taken as a prisoner of war. Held for years in a tiny cell, he was tortured and abused in every way possible. He proved he had a strong constitution, suffering through the days and nights despite the bleak outlook. His sight was taken from him, but being blind gave his other senses a boost, especially his sense of hearing. Eliot had used echolocation at times, when he found himself in complete darkness.
The cruelty of Eliot's captors extended to forced fights between prisoners. Eliot's understanding of echolocation helped him greatly. he trained himself to analyse the sounds, so that he could identify the exact position of his opponent, and in time he proved himself to be a very capable fighter, despite his blindness.
Eventually the camp was raided and Eliot was rescued, but by then he was so beat down he couldn't even tell his name. He was taken to a rehabilitation hospital, and sent home after months of therapy. Having nowhere to go, Eliot returned to his ex girlfriend Aimee, and her father agreed to put him to work on his horse ranch. Eliot adapted with only minor hiccups. While his blindness prevented him from seeing, it did not prevent him from working.
ABILITIES/WEAKNESS
ABILITIES:Eliot is a fighter. He has been seen taking out several opponents, regardless if they are armed, regardless of their skill, and despite the fact he is blind. Eliot does not typically use weapons beyond his own body. Eliot is street smart, and intelligent. He has traveled the world, and he knows a lot of random things about well, random things. He uses echolocation, his sense of hearing heightened die to his blindness. He can identify the model of a gun based on the sound it makes, for example. When he takes interest in something, he absorbs it.
WEAKNESSES: Guns. He hates them. Children are his other great weakness. Subtle clues have been dropped that Eliot was probably abused as a child. He does not handle situations involving children well. He will protect the children, but show no mercy to the adults who take advantage of the little ones. His blindness is definitely a weakness, but Eliot has turned it into a strength, being blind rarely slows him down.
